What’s in Guildford

Guildford is home to large numbers of people who commute to London, and is also a university town. Less well-known are its historic buildings, its connections with Lewis Carroll, its new state-of-the-art entertainment venue, and the fact that it is situated in a beautiful part of the UK.

Guildford High Street, the main shopping street in the town. Also running parallel to it is North Street and at the bottom of North Street is the Friary Shopping Centre.

The River Wey runs though the centre of the town, flowing south to north, to join the Thames at Weybridge.

The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, consecrated in 1961.
