What does baptism mean?
Baptism is a sign of four things:

micro arrowBurying the old life. When we join our lives to Jesus, God makes what happened to him apply to us - death, burial and resurrection; Colossians 2:12
micro arrowDrinking God's Holy Spirit; Acts 2:38. Just as in baptism we are soaked, immersed in water, we are also baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit.
micro arrowJoining the Body of Christ. Baptism is an initiation into the body or family of God
When should baptism take place?
micro arrowAs soon as possible after we become believers; e.g. Acts 8:36-38
