'A Company of Preachers'

On Thursday June 14th 2007 a day conference was held at the Millmead Centre for preachers from across the spectrum, not simply for full-time Ministers

SPEAKERS:

Greg Haslam

Greg Haslam has been the Senior Minister at Westminster Chapel since 2002 and travels widely as a preacher and conference speaker. He believes deeply in the recovery of strong healthy churches, characterised by a strong and vigorous God-centred focus. This is manifested primarily in a renewed confidence in God’s Word, and a conscious engagement with His Spirit. He is the author of many articles and four books, the latest of which is entitled ‘Preach the Word!’ Greg looked at how we preach the atonement.

Gbile Akanni

Gbile Akanni heads up a ministry, 'Living Seed', centred in Gboko, Nigeria and is committed to turning believers into disciples. The ministry is trans-denominational and reaches into every strata of the nation. His Ministers' Leadership Retreat which takes place in December every year is attended by 15,000 leaders from all walks of life, not just the Church. Gbile travels extensively and his authoritative teaching is deeply challenging and life-changing and he has deep desire to see a mighty visitation of God in these crucial times. At this conference Gbile spoke about the inner spiritual life of the preacher and how he/she should prepare for preaching.

Ian Stackhouse

Ian Stackhouse was formerly Senior Pastor at the King's Church Amersham before moving to take up the Pastoral leadership of Guildford Baptist Church in April 2004. He has thus far authored one book entitled 'The Gospel-Driven Church' and is currently writing another addressing the issue of our daily spirituality in a fast-moving society. Ian chose to speak on the place of preaching in congregational worship.
