Martin Brunet became an Elder in January 2008, having been part of the Church here since moving to Guildford in 1997. He became a Christian at the age of 15, when an attempt to prove to his friends that he was a good agnostic led to him being bowled over by the Gospel for the first time. He is married to Clare and they have two children. He is a GP, working in Godalming, and is also a Governor of Holy Trinity C of E Junior School in Guildford, where he also runs the school chess club. He is passionate about art and loves to spend time improving his drawing and painting skills.
Allan Wells has been at Guildford Baptist Church since 1985, since moving from Leicester. He is married to Di and they have three children. He became an Elder for the second time in 2005, and continues to be a part of the worship ministry, leading worship, singing and occasionally playing keyboard. He also enjoys swimming, reading, drinking decent coffee and spending time with family and friends, and is a keen supporter of Derby County FC. He works as a solicitor with Surrey County Council, based in Kingston, where he is Assistant Head of Legal Services.
Brian Kirkpatrick and his wife Karen have been attending Guildford Baptist Church since 1995, shortly after moving to Godalming. Brian became an Elder in 2003, having previously served as Finance Deacon. Karen and Brian have two sons, both graduate students. In addition to his involvement with the Church, Brian is a governor of a local Christian school. He enjoys music, opera and travel. He is a chartered accountant and company treasurer.
Lance Redman has been a member of Guildford Baptist Church since 1985, was a founding member of Stoughton Congregation, and became an Elder in 2003. He initiated an informal football club that has been running for a number of years, and has also been part of a men's prayer and breakfast activity. As well as being a racquet sports fan, he is currently attempting to learn French. He is married to Therese and they have three daughters. Lance works for a firm of local accountants.
Ant Horton arrived in Guildford from Bromley in 2001 and has been in full-time youth work since 1995. He believes that young people become disciples of Jesus by being encouraged, mentored and having some fun along the way. He is married to Rachel and they have three young sons. In his spare time, such as it is, he plays some golf, and he loves coffee, Apple Mac computers and Christmas cake.
Mike Pusey became a Baptist minister in 1960 and spent many years as a Pastoral Leader before becoming a Pastor to Pastors with an itinerant ministry. He accepted an invitation in 2003 to be the interim pastoral leader at Guildford Baptist Church and was instrumental in recommending Ian Stackhouse as the new Pastoral Leader. He has also been Chaplain to Aldershot Town Football Club for more than 20 years. He is married to Margaret and they have two children, both married, and five grandchildren.
Peter Jackson came to Guildford in 1991, having previously served in ministry in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire for 11 years. Before that, he was a qualified teacher. He is married to Chris who works as a full-time volunteer for Powerpack, a children's charity, and they have three sons, all married, and seven grandchildren. He enjoys walking, swimming, the theatre, - and good food!
Ian Stackhouse arrived in April 2004 to become Pastoral Leader of Guildford Baptist Church, after previously being Senior Pastor at Kings Church Amersham for 11 years. He is married to Susanna and they have four boys, all of whom support Burnley Football Club. In his spare time Ian likes reading novels, writing poetry, walking in the Surrey Hills, watching movies, playing football with his boys and listening to Russian Orthodox music!
