How to Find the Church

TRAVEL:

Guildford Baptist Church is located on the River Wey, a short walk away from Guildford SWR train station (direct trains to/from London Waterloo).   Our central location means that car parking facilities at the church are limited, therefore on-site parking is not available unless by pre-arranged permit, but there are plenty of other car parks you will be able to use within easy walking distance.   The Guildford Park and Ride buses from Artington also stop nearby (Mon-Sat only).   Requests for on-site parking must be made in advance and spaces cannot be guaranteed. Accessible parking spaces are available by advance request.

Up to date information from Guildford Borough Council showing the public car parks is available on the council’s website https://www.guildford.gov.uk/carparkcharges.   The closest carpark for visitors (Mon-Sat) to the Millmead Centre is the Millbrook Car Park. It is a short walk away using the footpath alongside the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and the footbridge over the River Wey into Millmead. Alternatively the Artington Park & Ride stops in Portsmouth Road. https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/buses-and-other-transport/guildford-park-and-ride.  Please check the council website for other options and up to date Sunday parking arrangements.

BY TRAIN:
Frequent train service from London Waterloo on the Portsmouth line. Journey time 35-40 minutes. As you come out of the station bear right and head for the underpass. As you come to the other end of the underpass, turn right up the slope (not left up the steps), and continue to follow the building round to the left, heading down towards the river between the building and the foot ramp of the bridge over the river. ON NO ACCOUNT CROSS THE RIVER! When you reach the riverbank, turn right to pass under the bridge and head straight on through a contract car park, passing between St Nicolas Church and the White House pub. Continue, keeping the river on your left. The Millmead Centre is about 100 yards along the road set back from the road on the right, with lawns and a gravel drive leading to the front entrance.
BY BUS:
As you step off the bus at the main bus station, turn left and head towards the shops in North Street. Cross over North Street, bear right and head down the hill for about 30 metres to the pedestrianised Friary Street on the left, with TK Maxx on your right and Nando’s restaurant on your left. When you reach the end of Friary Street cross over the pedestrian crossing, turn immediately right and cross over another pedestrian crossing. Bear right and walk over the bridge. Turn left at the end of the bridge passing between St Nicolas Church and the White House pub. Continue, keeping the river on your left. The Millmead Centre is about 100 yards along the road set back from the road on the right, with lawns and a gravel drive leading to the front entrance.
