Children of all ages are catered for at Guildford Baptist Church, with different activities for them to get involved with, both on Sundays and during the week.
Our vision for the children’s ministry is ‘Love God, Love Others’; this tagline is the foundation on which we build our work on Sundays and throughout the week. We hope that what we do in our ministry to children and families, both aspires to, and reflects this.
In their different small groups on a Sunday, you will find that the children will spend time in worship, learning Bible stories, playing games and doing various types of craft.
Our work is only possible with the help of many members of the Church, all of whom have given up time to care for our children and show God’s love to them. On Sunday mornings we have a team of more than 60 adults working with around 100 children in six different age groups. All our volunteers are vetted according to the Child Protection policy guidelines for working with under 18s.

|Baby Crèche 0 – 1 year olds Parkside 1,2 and 3
For our very young children, there are crèche facilities; there is also a room set aside for parents of very young babies where the whole service can be heard on a relay from the main auditorium, so parents need not feel they are missing out.
|Toddler Crèche 2 – 3 year olds Parkside 1,2 and 3
Is a space for those young children that are on the move and keen to explore new things. As well as free play there is also a short Bible story, prayer, song and craft activity for the children to take part in.
|Sparks 3 year olds – Reception Riverside 1
Sparks is a more structured group, with children from 3 years old joining once they have done a term at nursery. Singing, moving, and storytelling play a vital part when the children are together, along with little craft and prayer activities.
|Flames Year 1 – Year 2 Room C/D
Children in Flames follow a series from Family Ministries that encourages them to think about the relationship with God at home, when they are out and about and when they are at school. Children are actively encouraged to pray and share things within the group.
|Lasers Year 3 – year 5 Games Hall
This is the oldest of our groups, where we want to challenge and nurture the growth of the children’s faith, and to provide opportunities to give testimonies, lead, and have fun. Regularly children are encouraged to pray in groups and ask for Holy Spirit's help in their life.
Minimeads Year 3 – Year 5 5 – 6.30pm including a tea!
Come and hang out and meet new friends. Play some games and sport, be crafty, make a dance, bang some drums, strut your stuff on the stage.
For evenings at Millmead, subs will be £1 which includes tea. Please don’t let finances determine whether you come or not, we would rather you be with us. Get your parent(s) to talk to Lisa if you would like any help with costs.
