Arts and Drama

All forms of creativity reflect the image of God placed in each one of us, and can be vehicles for expressing our love for God and his work in our lives.

At our first Arts and Craft Fair held at the Millmead Centre in November 2011, a wealth of talent and creativity was evident from among Church members and Christians from across the town. Our second Craft Fair took place in November 2012.

How about acting and script-writing? On occasion we use drama to enhance worship and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in new and creative ways. We sometimes present short dramatic sketches in our worship service and on occasion for special events. We also need people with experience in costumes/wardrobe, sets, lighting and sound.

In 2008 we took up the challenge of presenting a production of C S Lewis' 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', and at the end of 2012 we put on a lively musical for 7-11 year-olds, entitled 'The Peace Child'. This told the story of the far away land of Mambica where two opposing tribes seem unwilling to put an end to their enmity. Only the gift of a new-born child can bring peace.

And what about the whole area of PA sound and video? Perhaps you are a big fan of technology or have an ear to make music sound good. Then we could most certainly use you at our Sunday services and other special events to operate the sound and video equipment. If you have any experience in working with computers, sound boards, amps, and speakers that would be great, but if not, we are more than happy to train you.
