Prayer Ministry

Guildford Baptist Church is now a Link Centre with The Christian Healing Mission. To find out more about their ministry please visit

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted  to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1

  • May we pray for you?
  • Is the Lord highlighting something in your life you need help with?
  • Do you desire a fresh anointing of God's Holy Spirit?
  • Are you facing difficult situations at home or in work?
  • Do you need prayer for something you have to deal with this week?
  • Are you in pain or struggling with your health?
  • Would it help to talk?

Prayer Ministry is offered in a variety of ways, and under the guidance and anointing of the Holy Spirit:

Prayer at Sunday services

for any situation that you would like to bring before God. This can be a personal need, a difficult decision you have to make, a hospital appointment to face or something He has highlighted during the Service.

Prayer Ministry appointments

can be arranged during the week with two Prayer Ministers for those who need time to pray more deeply into issues that are of concern.

Soaking Prayer

for any on-going situation where God's help is required e.g. coping with chronic illness or disability. This is not so much sharing needs but rather being soaked, through prayer, in the healing provision of God to strengthen and equip in the difficult situation.

Prayer for Physical Healing

either at Church after the Service or at home if necessary. The Elders are also available to pray for healing with anointing of oil in accordance with James 5:14.

At Ministry Days or Prayer Ministry Courses

details will be on the website or in the Church Newsletter or Bulletin.

Concerning Prayer Ministry at Guildford Baptist Church

  • The Prayer Ministry Team is made up of people called by God into His healing work. They all receive on-going training and ministry themselves as part of their own development.
  • In every time of prayer, the Team seeks to be led by the Holy Spirit, following His direction and under His anointing.
  • Please note that confidentiality is strictly maintained within Guildford Baptist Church but those who have prayed for you may need to communicate some of your details in pursuing further prayer or help for you. This will only be shared with your agreement. You should know, however, that confidentiality will be broken if required by law or if we consider there is a risk to you or to others.

Contacting the Prayer Ministry Team

If you would like to speak to a member of the Prayer Ministry Team on a Sunday, they can be identified by their badges.

To contact them during the week, please telephone the Church Office on 01483 575008.

If you believe God is calling you to be involved in Prayer Ministry as a member of the Team then please speak to Alice Lee, Prayer Ministry Deacon so that we can explore this calling with you.
